SHAPING THE INTERIOR – September 5, 2018

We are now crafting the dashboard and center console as pre-production parts. Since the dash and center console will be made from molded parts, we are building an initial part by hand to check for fit and suitability prior to spending large amounts on big molds.

Above, Kevin Abraham is shown working on the top portion of the center console. This part needs to be structural, so we are using formed aluminum sheets to give strength to the part. When completed – including being surfaced by finish materials – this will be fastened to the floor between the seats, and will have electrical and mechanical components running through it to the wings and engine behind.
