STEERING THE FRONT WHEEL – March 11, 2019
More work was finished, as we push ahead to first flight. Above you can see Sean installing the steering linkage to the front wheel. We had been awaiting parts which finally showed up, and got right onto putting this assembly into the vehicle. Lots of work like this is happening now, as the parts are arriving and the assemblies are now able to be finished. This steering unit is a rack and pinion system, which was far superior to the earlier Pitman arm we used initially. With the vehicle at a dead stop, you can turn the front wheel with the steering wheel, using only two fingers. Very nice control and motion.
