Engines are designed for different purposes, and ours was designed for flat-out full-throttle use. We recently did a short video of the engine revving to our maximum rpm of 7,200. The engine was designed to run up to 8,300 rpm, so our use at 7,200 rpm is not maximizing this engine at all.
The nice thing about this video is at the end, we zoom in on the wires coming out of the exhaust pipes where we measure exhaust gas temperatures during testing. The engine is running so smoothly at this rpm that the wires are barely moving!
