In between engine tests, we worked just a bit on the tail boom. The tail has been on the body numerous times, but now we want to fix the tail boom locking points permanently. For that we set up the laser to ensure we had the tail straight back from the body.
This very short video clip shows how we made sure the tail boom was positioned correctly before drilling the bolts through the locking pins. Engineer David Nobles is controlling the lazer from up in the loft and Sam Bousfield is taking measurements at the tail boom.
