The crew has been deep into engine testing recently, with this initial test being run by Samson engineer, David Nobles. David in the light colored ear protection has hooked up a vibration sensor to the 3 cylinder engine, and we are running through different rpms to establish a baseline of vibration prior to mounting the propeller. Sean Bliss is in the driver seat, controlling the throttle and Phillip Mikula is monitoring numerous engine guages, including exhaust temp, air-fuel mixture, etc.
Joel Joachims is capturing slo-mo footage of the engine, while Sam Bousfield is monitoring engine temperatures in different spots throughout the engine bay. At the end, David ends the test so we can review the data. This may go on for several days as we work to perfect the engine installation.
