MIKULA MASTERS THE ENGINE – January 26, 2021
Electronic Tech Phillip Mikula (in the bright jacket) is getting ready to test the sensor and switch controls while running the 3-cylinder engine, with Sean Bliss in the background working to get the engine ready to run in a test stand. We are validating that we have the correct sensor outputs that we will route to our Eyes Forward Display, and that the engine runs the way we need it to with several of the limp-modes disabled.
While flying a Switchblade, the pilot will want the option to run the engine beyond its capabilities in an emergency, rather than have the computer shut the engine down to idle on its own.
