BODY MODIFICATION COMPLETED – January 28, 2021
Steve Lorentzen’s crew (Redmond, OR) completed the modification on the Switchblade’s rear bulkhead where we had cut the hold to make room for the longer engine. Earlier, Steve had cut individual panels from a larger sheet, and bonded them all together to make the ‘bump out’ for the engine. Since then he has completed attaching the ‘bump out’ at the rear fuselage bulkhead to fill in the hole and seal the passenger compartment from the engine compartment. This image shows that bulkhead from the engine compartment side, and all of the carbon fiber reinforcing has been completed.
