MAIN WING STRUCTURAL TEST – PASS! – February 8, 2019
There were two big milestones met in the past few weeks. The first (pictured above) is that we passed our Main Wing Structural Test, which is something even Cessna and Boeing engineers get nervous about. To pass the guidelines given in Certified Aircraft standards, we loaded the wing with weight equivalent to a small car on each wing (2,541 lb). That would be like putting a Toyota Corolla on each wing! The carbon fiber wings only weigh 55 lb each by themselves, and yet support over a ton of weight! Here is the time-lapse video of the test:
We were very happy about this, as you can imagine. Lots of celebrating was done, and then we got ready for the second test.
