BUFFING THE LIGHTING LENS – MAY 10, 2019
At the rear, the lights are mostly for ground use. We have brake lights, tail lights, turn signals, and back up lights. Rather than have a complicated lighting lens with different colors, we decided to use a clear rear lighting lens, and differently colored LED bulbs to produce the colors required. For the prototype, Larry Hinman 3D printed the lenses, and in the image above, is shown buffing out the final product to see how ‘clear’ we can make it. The more clear it is, the more light will pass through it.
