PROP DISENGAGE PARTS – SWITCHBLADE FLYING CAR – March 5, 2021
The parts shown here were done by Phoenix Composite Solutions in Michigan, and are fairly technical parts. These form an assembly that allows us to disengage the prop from the engine for driving on the ground. This technology is borrowed from 4wd jeeps and is called a dog clutch. The big ‘teeth’ on the two short parts are called dogs and engage each other when you want to transfer power. (Some people have said these qualify as works of art.)
