TEMPORARILY BOLTING UP – March 31, 2020
We are bolting on the wings (and then the tail) to get a final weight and balance for the Switchblade prototype. We will bring them off one more time, as we have a modification going on in the engine bay that will need to be completed prior to flight testing, and this is best done without the wings or tail in the way.
The wings and tail have come on and off so many times, that the team has this totally dialed and can do it in just a few minutes. Here you can see Sam Bousfield (left) and David Nobles connecting one of the wings. You can see that the flap is attached and the aileron is off. At this point, we are making sure that the control surfaces are working as they should, being controlled by the pilot in the cockpit. This is the fun part!
