SAMSON V4 ENGINE ACHIEVES 209 HP AT 6,000 RPM – January 22, 2020
Engine Dyno, Loyning’s Engine Services – Portland, Oregon:
With a combined total of 66 years of engine tuning, Arnie Loyning (left) and Roger Dawes (right) have an impressive amount of expertise, primarily in the race car arena. High performance is what they do. Here you can see them inspecting the Samson V4 engine, talking over the next move in the power chess game of engine tuning.
For two days, we kept improving the engine performance, using Chevron Premium Unleaded 92 octane fuel (car pump gas). We had targeted 190 hp at 6,000 rpm. At the end of the second day (not long after this photo was taken of them with the engine), we ran 209 hp at 6,000 rpm, and the engine sounded great.
On the computer screen, the graph below shows the power and torque curves from the dyno run where we achieved 209 hp at 6,000 rpm.
