IN THE ENGINE DYNO CONTROL BOOTH: LOYNING’S ENGINE SERVICES – January 21, 2020
As mentioned yesterday, we have the Samson V4 on the engine dyno at Loyning’s Engine Services in Portland, OR. At the throttle is Arnie Loyning, who has been building and tuning engines for racing and high-performance cars for 44 years. His company has clients across the U.S. and in many countries internationally. On the panel main panel are sensors for Temperature, Power/Torque, RPM, and Fuel Flow/Air Flow. The screen on the far right displays and graph rpms, Corrected Torque, Airflow, etc.
On the left is Roger Dawes, who has been tuning engines in the racing arena for over 20 years. He was brought in specifically to tune with our engine computer and the tuning set-up we’ve been using in Prineville. You can see some of the gauges on the tuning laptop he’s using.
In front of them is the sound proofed window with our engine in the dyno room beyond.
Here’s a short video clip of some of the engine dyno tuning action.
