To get the engine computer to talk to our Eyes Forward Display, we have set up a ‘sniffer’ to capture and identify packets of information that the engine computer is constantly sending and receiving. This is done with some specialized hardware and software for that purpose.
Here we see Phillip Mikula setting up the sniffer on the main communication channel for the engine, so we can begin that work.The engine is on an engine stand to the right, so we can modify and connect or disconnect the different sensors to check what packets belong to what sensors.
