PROGRESS ON THE DROP TEST FIXTURE – August 24, 2020
The top steel bars are now welded in place and the winch has been installed. Next up is the test sled and rollers. At a future time, when we do more drop testing, the rear suspension assembly will be lifted by the winch and then dropped to the floor, per each test’s parameters. We’ll only be hoisting about 500 pounds so this 1 1/2 ton winch is plenty strong enough for the job.
