MORE HEAT CONTROL – April 12, 2019
Like almost every engine, the Switchblade’s engine produces heat as it operates. To protect the occupants, it is typical to have some sort of fire barrier between the engine and the cockpit. Ours is from SunFire Defense and uses materials like those found in space launch platforms. Lightweight but extremely fire resistant, the heat shield shown above fits to the carbon bulkhead to insulate the cockpit from the engine bay.
