TURBO EXHAUST READY AFTER COAT AND WRAP – April 10, 2019
The stainless-steel exhaust system was finished, and then removed and coated on the inside so more of the heat stays inside the pipes. This reflective coating will help keep that heat inside so the turbo can use that heat to make more power.
There will still be heat given off by the exhaust, so we went the extra step of installing an exhaust wrap, which you can see in the image above. The purpose here is to keep exhaust heat from radiating outwards and heating up the engine bay, as well as the carbon fiber shell that encloses the engine bay. Composite parts need to be kept from overheating, so they retain their strength and shape. This wrap should do just the trick.
