To give the test pilot more control right at the edge of lift-off, we revised the front suspension to be more like an aircraft and less like a car. Once we have flown and learned from that, we will revert back to the combination suspension for further flight testing.
We are developing a revised steering setup for production vehicles. This will likely be a steer-by-wire system like many new cars use and will get us closer to adding autonomous drive and fly when that is found to be trustworthy and desired as an option for our customers.
This image shows the new black mount and white suspension strut for the front wheel. We are putting this together so we can taxi test in advance of our next flight testing coming up shortly. If this proves out like we think it will, we will be in good shape for our next flight test sequence to expand our flight times.
