We just fired up the new Samson 3 engine in the Switchblade, making record time to perform a complete engine swap in less than three months. Initial tests included harmonic analysis, which showed very little vibration at lower RPMs, which are the most prone to problems for a three-cylinder engine.
It has a muscular, throaty sound, and is the smoothest running engine we have seen in the Switchblade! Next up will be some slight engine tuning and then we will run the propeller to load up the engine and test harmonics again.
