Our next flight testing is geared to produce the video that we want to show the world as our official first flight announcement. In preparation for that, we are adding a few features which will give us additional control of the flight. While our rudders have performed well thus far, we decided to increase their effectiveness even more. The aero-engineers and then the composites team have produced new rudders that are 1.5x’s the width front to back to provide more control authority at low speeds.
We are working to get a lower speed take-off and having more authority down ‘low’ should be insurance for success. Here you can see the new rudders being trial fitted after being produced. We may do the same for the elevators.
