As we mount the wings and tail on the vehicle for flight testing, we are balancing the control surfaces that are the moving parts of the wing and tail. In flight, these parts are directed by the pilot to maintain control of the aircraft. In this case, Samson engineer David Nobles is working on one of the ailerons that are mounted on the wing to bank left or right, and adjusting the weights in the front of the aileron to make it balanced when attached for flight.
