LAST OF THE AVIONICS WIRING – September 5, 2019

There is quite a lot of wiring that occurs when you put in a modern avionics (flight instruments) installation like we have in the Switchblade. We had installed the avionics earlier and had much of the wiring accomplished. In the images, Switchblade Owner and Aircraft Builder, Nick Leonard, is shown wiring up the VP-X Pro electronic circuit protection device (red box) to those avionics that require that level of protection.

The second image below shows Nick soldering the wire connections to the second fan that we placed on each of the two radiators, to increase our cooling capacity. Earlier we had mounted one fan on each radiator and found that the air flow wasn’t adequate. With the second fan, the airflow is absolutely outstanding. Many automobiles now use two fans to get sufficient airflow through the radiators when you are stuck in traffic on a hot day, to keep the engine from overheating.
