3D PRINTED PARTS – September 27, 2018
With the world turning to 3D printing for so many things, it seemed natural for us to incorporate that somewhere in the Switchblade Flying Sports Car. We will undoubtedly have more, but for now one of the things we have 3D printed is prototype hand-grips for the control wheel.
What this gave us is a relatively inexpensive and fast way to tell whether the shapes we were envisioning actually fit the hand and felt comfortable enough to want to hold onto it for hours driving or flying. Above, Switchblade designer Sam Bousfield tests this hand-grip out for himself. Jim Carruthers, our 3D Artist Consultant will be making some modifications and then we’ll have another grip printed up.
