TEST PILOT FITTED IN CUSTOM 4-POINT HARNESS – September 12, 2019
For safety on our first flights, we have installed a custom 4-point harness for the test pilot. This type of seat belt is more difficult to set up and get into but keeps the pilot more securely in his seat. The safety harness has a quick-release feature that allows the seat belt to be released in case he needs to exit the vehicle and use his own parachute. Below is a very short video that shows how this procedure went when Ron McElroy was here a few weeks back. Sean Bliss is shown helping fit the custom harness to Ron, who is wearing a personal parachute.
