TESTING THE SUSPENSION DROP SLED – November 23, 2020

Our new Drop Test fixture was created to test the suspension systems for now and into the future. The FAA requires such a test for certified aircraft. Although not required for experimental/kit aircraft like the Switchblade, we are doing our drop testing to certified standards. We dropped the sled for the first time to check that the sled release mechanism worked and that the sled would drop cleanly. This testing went very well, with no problems found. You can see one of the drops in this 10-second time-lapse video.
