CONNECTING THE ELEVATORS TO THE PILOT – May 14, 2020
David Nobles, Samson Sky Mechanical Engineer, is putting the final touches on the elevator pilot control connection in the cockpit. We designed a pushrod system earlier, but in application found that it produced too much play. We replaced that assembly with a unique ball-bearing control cable capable of handling 300 pounds of force in compression, and much more in tension. This cable is used in helicopters and many marine applications.
