DOUBLE CHECK ON WEIGHT AND BALANCE – February 17, 2020
As part of the checks being done on the Switchblade before we fly, there is a check of weight and balance. This was done recently to double check the calculated and measured weights of individual components, and then compare them to the overall weight of everything assembled. We are in the process here in the photo showing Sean Bliss operating the lift, Ron Burch pushing the scale in place, and Sam Bousfield watching the digital scale readout and marking down the results.
To get the weight of the body, we took 3 separate measurements – one with the scale under each of the 3 wheels. Then we weighed both wings, the tail, clamshell doors, belly pan, and any other parts that were not on the body.
