Switchblade flying sports car enters Tajikistan market under new $11.5m deal
Agreement covers aircraft sales, training and aviation policy development
DUBAI – Oregon-based Samson Sky has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bring its Switchblade flying sports car to Central Asia, marking a notable step in the region’s aviation development.
The agreement was formalised with international development consultant Bakhtiyor Bahodurov during a high-level event in Tajikistan. The deal outlines the planned sale of 50 Switchblade vehicles, valued at up to $11.5 million.
The MoU extends beyond aircraft delivery, targeting broader improvements in general aviation infrastructure across the country. It includes efforts to enhance aviation legislation, streamline aircraft registration processes, and establish structured pilot and maintenance training programmes.
Strategic deal
According to the agreement, both parties will collaborate to support regulatory development and operational readiness for the Switchblade in Tajikistan.
Training initiatives will focus on preparing pilots and mechanics, ensuring local capability for both operation and maintenance of the aircraft.
Bahodurov, a senior policy advisor with over two decades of regional experience, has facilitated major cross-sector partnerships across Central Asia. His previous initiatives have contributed more than $12 million in investment to Tajikistan and over $35 million to Kazakhstan, spanning infrastructure and economic development projects.
