Production Switchblades will have hinged doors, just like a typical car. And the side windows (in the doors) will be power windows. The prototype however, if different. Here you can see one of the Flight Test Crew preparing to put the door on and get it in place before we do some test runs.
The pilot’s door is called a kick-out door, which is designed for fast release in case of a flight emergency. It has a cable and pull handle that trigger the door to pop off, giving the test pilot easier options for exiting the aircraft. Test pilots standardly wear a parachute, which could be deployed after getting free from the aircraft.
