Jim Gudaitis “Guido” –
Retired USAF, Flight Instructor
I want to use my Flight Instructor skills to get checked out early in the Switchblade and then help introduce other owners and potential owners to their magnificent new flying machines.
I thought flying cars would start to be in people’s garages 20 years ago, but it just never happened because no one was taking the initiative and willing to put the effort into making it happen. But now we have Samson Sky and it looks like it will finally become a reality for those that have been waiting for so long to fly into the future… Samson Sky is turning this dream into affordable reality, unlike anyone else out there.
I have always been a history and aviation buff. I began my flight path by using my newspaper delivery money to start flying lessons when I was 15 and got my Private Pilot License just after my 17th birthday. Then came college, followed by the USAF. Initially I was an Engineer but I still wanted to fly, so I kept putting in for a new path and finally was able to fly in the best the USAF had to offer.
My last 10 years in the Air Force I was a Flight Instructor and loved to teach and bring aviation to others. When I retired, I became a civilian instructor and am still bringing folks into aviation. I also began restoring a busted up experimental aircraft and was able to get it flying again. Now I fly it every week.
I’m really looking forward to building and then flying the Switchblade soon – taking advantage of all the opportunities it will open up for us. What makes me happy is to see others happy. I want to use my Flight Instructor skills to get checked out early in the Switchblade and then help to introduce other owners and potential owners to their magnificent new flying machines.
It would be great to help deliver some of the early birds to the Southeast US or for those people who drive their Switchblade home from the Builder Assist Center, I could get them started on their 40-hour fly-off programs at their home airports. That will put them on their way to the good life…
