NEW ASSEMBLY TO STRAIGHTEN SWITCHBLADE PROP FLOW – November 04, 2022

November 4, 2022

Stators are fixed blades that are usually placed after a propeller to straighten the airflow out from the propellers. You can also get more thrust if you make the stators shaped like a wing. In our case, we did both and are using the 3D printed parts as the hub close to the propeller to capture the inside portion of the stator blades, and the outside end of the stator blades are captured in bushings along the duct face. This engineering image shows the assembly as we will have it installed soon. The stator blades are the smaller ones closest to the rear of the vehicle. The propeller blades are just ahead of that and are the bigger blades.
