Samson Sky has recently made major progress in their flight test program and the Switchblade is looking closer than ever to maiden flight! (Enjoy this first-ever aerial drone footage of the Switchblade on the taxiway and runway!)
With veteran test pilot Ron McElroy at the helm, the team achieved many high-speed runs, each with specific parameters and objectives. A large body of data was collected on computers, GoPro cameras, etc., and analyzed after each set of test runs. This testing was done at Madras Airport, in Central Oregon’s high desert. A big thanks to our friends at New Moon Aviation, whose beautiful hangar we made our home away from home for this testing!
