How much time could you save using a flying car for business?

May 16, 2016

There are many ways to save time, some of which are more obvious than others.  Let’s start with the beginning of a particular workday, where you need to get from your home to your office, or directly to an appointment out of the office. If you live in a big city or need to commute into a big city, you’re going to have to contend with traffic. Maybe you are resigned to having to deal with hours upon hours of time wasted in traffic. With a flying car though, you could literally have a new lease on life.

How does this scenario sound? You walk out to your garage, drive your Switchblade to the closest airport (most Americans live within a 20 minute drive of a small/regional one), swing the wings out and extend the tail, and fly to the airport closest to your destination. Then you transform into ground mode and drive to your office or out of office appointment. Depending on where you live and where you’re going, you might save hours just on this first part of your business day.  You can do the math for your own particular scenario.

Let’s say you want to schedule several meetings in different places – all in one day. With a flying car, you simply look at where the airports are, figure out the best route – which part you will fly and which part you will drive – and schedule your meetings accordingly.  Point-to-point travel is always the most efficient way to go. And traveling in a flying sports car is definitely the most classy point-to-point option. Perhaps you could save enough time to have additional meetings or even longer meetings as needed, whereas in a regular car you would be stuck dealing with rush hour and possibly driving far out of your way to find less congested routes. Only you can say how much time that would save you, in a given week,

If you are traveling in a regional territory, where the shorter distances makes it more efficient to drive (not fly commercially), a flying car can save you a great deal of time. In a Switchblade, a 9.5 hour drive becomes a 1.5 hour flight. A 3+ hour drive transforms into a 40 minute flight. And once you land, you have your wheels right there and continue on to your final destination.

It’s easy to see how you could save enough time to come home more nights, instead of having to be in a hotel for nights on end. This is a time savings that can dramatically improve not only one’s business life but one’s personal life as well. What would it be worth to you to have more time at home with your family and friends? I have found that the “glamour” of business travel tends to wear off quickly, leaving one with a longing for a simpler life and the comforts of home.

These are some of the more observable ways to save time by using a flying car. I’m sure you can think of others that are relevant to you and to your business. And I would like to leave you with a thought about saving time. While it can certainly help you be more efficient, I believe that saving time can also put you in a more positive frame of mind, enabling you to actually create more time.  That might very well be the biggest advantage!
