AIR Tashkent, US Company Samson Sky Want to See 300 Switchblade Flying Cars in Uzbekistan’s Skies
Business News Europe IntelliNews journalistMokhi Sultanova reported on an agreement between Uzbekistan-based private aviation provider AIR Tashkent and U.S. manufacturer Samson Sky to facilitate the sale of at least 300 Switchblade flying cars in Uzbekistan, in a deal valued at more than $60 million.
Sultanova reported that the companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding covering sales, pilot training, and maintenance support. The agreement was signed at the opening of AIR Tashkent’s Easy to Fly Academy, where aviation professionals are to be trained. AIR Tashkent also intends to purchase a portion of the 300 vehicles for pilot training for personal and commercial licenses.
Under the agreement, Samson Sky will provide access to its flight simulators, train pilots and mechanics, and work with AIR Tashkent and the Uzbek government to qualify the Switchblade for both road and flight use in the country.
The article quoted Anna V. Grebenshchikova, a former aerobatic pilot and Samson Sky ambassador, who connected the initiative to an effort that began in 2024 to develop private aviation in Uzbekistan, saying “Now we are speaking about innovations such as the Switchblade Flying Sports Car reaching the land of the ancient Silk Road.”
Samson Sky Founder and CEO Sam Bousfield said, “The Switchblade will bring Uzbekistan a tremendous benefit of rapid regional travel.” He added, “We see the potential for regional trips, both national and international, helping business and government to operate faster and more efficiently.”
Sultanova also reported that AIR Tashkent describes itself as Uzbekistan’s first private provider of individual high-quality aviation services, offering maintenance services alongside charter routes.
