SWITCHBLADE ENGINE TESTING AT HIGHER RPM – October 9, 2020
We are continuing testing the Switchblade V4 engine with the supercharger, and have pushed the engine past 5,200 rpm – tuning it as we go. We have been able to take a lot of fuel out during the tuning, as it had extra fuel being injected to be on the cautious side of engine operation. We’re leaning it out now, but making sure we don’t go too far.
Sean Bliss is at the throttle, monitoring the gauges while he does the tuning. For safety, Sam Bousfield is monitoring several temperature gauges that are critical to safe operation. Phillip Mikula (leaning into the cockpit) is keeping detailed records of each test while Dana Beebe is watching the physical operation of the engine.
