ANGLE OF ATTACK (AOA) GAUGE INSTALLED – October 21, 2019
This Angle of Attack (AOA) indicator will give our test pilot critical information as he takes the Switchblade prototype through its paces during flight testing. It offers a visual indication of the amount of lift available from the wings at any given time and attitude of the aircraft. Pilots trained in the military often rely heavily on the AOA while maneuvering the vehicle during flight, and during landings.
We are using the particular AOA, shown above, for flight testing, not for production Switchblades. Production models will have the AOA incorporated into the pitot tube.
