ENGINE TUNING WITH THE WHEELS – November 8, 2019
The full transmission for ground use was installed so we could continue engine tuning under wheel power. This portion of the work is being done so we can do engine tuning in a dynamic fashion, as that is how the vehicle would be operated. The computers these days are pretty good about ‘reading between the lines’, but you want to do engine tuning on a variety of conditions to do a thorough job. We need the maximum horsepower for take-off, and reasonable fuel efficiency at cruise.
