MODIFICATION FOR MOUNTING PLATE – AILERON BELL CRANK AND PUSHROD TUBES – May 19, 2021

May 19, 2021

Here you can see the aileron bell crank, it’s mounting plate and the carbon pushrod tubes. (A bell crank is a device which changes the angle at which a suspension piece or linkage is operated.) This is mounted on the rear bulkhead (firewall) on the prototype.
We modified the mounting plate to address clearance issues for the pushrod tubes. At the same time, we changed the aluminum pushrod tubes to carbon, adding strength and reducing weight. (To orient you, this photo was taken from inside the cabin, capturing the underneath side of the engine mount, on the aft firewall.)
