FIBERGLASS TAIL FIN TO COVER ANTENNA – June 8, 2020
After completing some wiring on the Switchblade tail, Phillip Mikula is fitting the tail fins on the prototype. We made them of fiberglass, as this allows radio signal to penetrate better than carbon fiber. The antenna is in the left tail fin, at least for flight testing. If that gives us good reception we will keep the antenna there. If not, we’ll test it in the nose cone, which is also fiberglass.
