SAFETY EQUIPMENT GOING IN – January 15, 2020
In a worse-case scenario, when an aircraft crashes, there is a little box that sends out a signal to let search and rescue people know where you ended up. This can help speed up the rescue process and save lives, so is an important feature of an aircraft. Ours is bright green, and you wouldn’t mistake it for anything else! David Nobles is shown placing this piece of equipment in the Switchblade center console, called an Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT for short). It must be firmly mounted and pointed a certain direction to work.
