SWITCHBLADE ANGLE OF ATTACK GAUGE – August 14, 2020
Here is a close-up of the Angle Of Attack (AOA) gauge in the prototype. For flight testing, the AOA has been installed as a stand-alone gauge, in case the main display were to go dark. The test pilot could use the AOA to land the aircraft safely in that situation. For production vehicles, it is an integrated solution, with the display being the Dynon or Garmin main display unit.
The purpose of an AOA is to show the pilot what the aircraft’s angle is relative to the air as it flies along.
