After a safety briefing with the team, and final check over of the vehicle, we rolled the Switchblade flying car prototype out of the hangar, on its way to our first day of taxi testing. The weather went from sun to cloud to snow and back again, so it was one of those wild days of Spring. The spirits of the team were unaffected by the weather, though. We were on our way to make history.
In this first phase of taxi testing we are focusing on measuring the acceleration of the vehicle, testing braking, validating steering and handling, and insuring all systems are performing efficiently.
